Shrimp/Prawns curry Recipe






  So among those who love seafood the most delectable are the shrimps aka prawns. The sweet tender texture that melts in your mouth  needs no persuasion. It’s welcome in our kitchen in any type of cuisine, be it curry, stir fried, sautéed or every soul favorite the sinful fried popcorn shrimp🙃😉🍤


Today, i bring to you my easy go to, made in a short minute, shrimp curry. So yes, we call it shrimps in this part of the world. 







Shall we start with the ingredients, 

Main ingredients: 

100 grams medium sized or small shrimps, peeled and veined

1 medium tomato diced

1 small onion


Marinating ingredients:

Fresh Curry leaves 4-5

1 tbs cooking oil

1/4 tsp whole fennel seeds (thinner variety)

1/2 tsp spicy cayenne

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp Kashmiri red cayenne

1/2 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp lime juice

Salt per taste

A heavy bottom pot

Lets heat our iron pot. Once smoking hot add 1tbs oil

Add the marinated shrimps.

Roast rapidly like in stir fry. Avoid burning the shrimps. 

When they achieve a certain roasted stage get them off the heat in a bowl. 


Now semi brown onions to medium brown. Add tomatoes and roast till the oil separates. 

Now add the shrimps and curry leaves. 

Cook them together for another 10 minutes till the curry achieves to your expected consistency. 

I made a medium consistency curry as it goes well with rice or chapatti. 

Serve warm with some fresh cilantro mince garnish.
