This recipe is one of my hand downs from my mom, so thank you MOM 🧡
This dessert is very delicious and is a healthy option on traditional desserts. Filled with high protein a good energy booster during those winter sluggish months. This dessert has a good shelf life and stays in the fridge for a good whole month too. All you need to do is thaw it and consume it warm or even cold. Either ways it's fantastic!
So let's get started with the making of this very delicious dessert.
We will need all these ingredients:
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup Almond flour
- 1cup brown sugar
- 1cup white fine granulated sugar
- 3-4 table spoons ghee or organic ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 tsp dessert spice blend
- 3 cups warm water
- Saffron strands 10-15
Let’s get started:
Take a deep non stick pan. Add wheat flour to it and start roasting the flour on a low-medium flame non stop for around 10-15 mins or till you start getting a sweet aroma from the flour. Once you attain this stage in roasting, add Almond flour and roast for another 5 minutes. Now add Ghee to the flours, and roast for another 5 minutes on a low heat till everything is incorporated well.

Now you can add sugar to the mixture and let it melt away.

It’s time to add water to the mixture. |
Stir well till all the water evaporates. |
Garnish with Saffron strands and serve warm!
