Pan Seared Sockeye Salmon- A simple go to recipe that can be plated in 15-20 mins.

 

Pan Seared Sockeye Salmon



This is a very simple and a very flavorful recipe. You could apply this recipe to any other wild caught meaty fish.

Ingredients:

  1. Sockeye Salmon Fillets 5-6
  2. 1 tsp dried Parsley
  3. 1/2 tsp Garlic minced or powdered 
  4. 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
  5. 1 tsp Butter or 1 tsp Ghee
  6. 1 tsp fresh lime or lemon  juice 
  7. 8-10 whole Fennel seeds
  8. Salt to taste.

Utensils: A Non stick pan with lid, a Fish spatula.




Process:

Add ghee or butter to the non stick pan. Slowly, lay the fish fillets skin side down in the hot sizzling pan. Let the flame set on medium high. Do not disturb the fillets for 5-6 mins. Sprinkle rest of the ingredients on top of the fillets. Look for bottom edges to turn golden brown before you flip it. Use a wide base long handle spatula to flip the fish gently without breaking it. Let sear for another 5-6 on high flame setting, under supervision.





VIOLA!!! you have a delicious meal ready in about 20-25 mins. Your flakey melt in your mouth fish is ready to serve. Serve it hot with steamed tomato rice or plain rice.
