COMBAT YOUR WINTER SKIN with my Citrus Skin Face scrub

It’s very common to face a unique skin concern during Fall and Winter, when our skin starts getting dry and looses moisture. I have used this scrub for over the years during cold months and it has rescued my skin well. I make this scrub only in winter months.
These are the easy ingredients that are easily available any time of the year in your local market.

We need the following ingredients for making this scrub in your kitchen:
  • 1 Orange and 1Grapefruit (unstained) dried peels
  • 5-6 Walnut halves
  • 5-6 Almonds
  • 1cup Oats
*unstained-  no black spots or avoid using moldy peels

[Please do not use Almonds or Walnuts in this scrub if you are allergic to nuts. Also avoid using cream or milk if you are lactose intolerant You can only use Oats and  unstained dried Citrus peels.]

Process: You can sun dry the peels or use a dehydrator to dry the peels. You can break the dried citrus peels into small chips and add them to the grinder. First powder these chips semi fine. Then add Oats and nuts. Powder them fine if possible or as much as possible.
It should look like this⬇

Store this scrub well in an airtight container. Add a Cinnamon stick to the container, as this will absorb all the extra moisture from the scrub and keep it dehydrated. Also it will add a beautiful aroma to it.

Try this scrub yourself and experience a soft and supple skin texture. Please take note, if you use this scrub avoid using soap or body wash on application areas.

How to use it?

For Face: Pour out a teaspoon  or two of scrub in a bowl. Add enough of rose water or milk or honey or just filtered water to it so it makes a moderately creamy consistency. Apply with a clean makeup  flat brush or just your fingers to your face. Avoid eye area. Leave it on for a good 10 mins. or however long even upto 20 minutes is fine. But if you are comfortable with just 5 mins or less it ok too. You will experience some tingling in the application area so avoid eye area completely.  When you are ready, start scrubbing it gently over the sink, avoid pressing your skin too hard in the process. Once the scrub is all off, splash warm water over your face to get rid of the remaining residue. Pat/ dab dry with a soft napkin. Then apply your sunscreen based  favorite face moisturizer.

This scrub will help reducing your summer tan and lighten blemishes to some extent naturally. Therefore it's important you use a broad sunscreen moisturizer based on sun exposer.Use this scrub every 3 days or twice a week. There you go, an easy formulation that’s natural and fragrant and keeps your skin looking youthful forever. Your skin will thank you.

Enjoy your beautiful skin for life!
